Upper Room Terms and Requirements

Upper Room Communications is a "for profit", privately owned company providing Audio recording, archiving, duplication and distribution of Conference, Seminar and convention speakers messages.
Upper Room has been in operation since 1975, serving AA and other 12 Step groups since 1982.
We maintain an extensive Library of recordings, all created by ourselves and we reserve all copyright under liscence.
Our retail sales exists on two fronts, live sales at events underway, and Online through our several catalog pages
We make no direct charge for the use of our professional services, provided certain criteria are met.
We reserve the right to decline any invitation for whatever reason we may determine to not be in our best interests or that of the invitors.
Upper Room makes no guarantee as to the success of our endeavours and makes no promises of any kind concerning compensation in the unlikely event we should be unable to accomplish a specific recording
Our goal as recording professionals is always to acheive the highest quality audio recording possible and to deliver copies of same as quickly as possible and at a reasonable cost.


SPECIFIC CRITERIA

To qualify for Upper Room to attend your function you must be able to offer reasonable expectation of profitability.

1. To that end the number of persons expected to attend, either as known figure or a 'best guess' must be reported to us.

2. A 2nd and equally important factor is the 'drawing power' of the speakers. Few people attending a convention will purchase recordings of local speakers. "Circuit Speakers" have the highest rating, with 'imported guests' a close second. Even one 'high profile' speaker can make the difference between profit and loss for us

While there are never any guarantees of high sales figures, we must choose carefully those events we invest in as our costs must eventually be recovered.

3. Finally, if we are asked to travel more than 1 hour from our Drayton Valley Base, we require a hotel room and two complete "Convention" or "Roundup" tickets be provided (including banquet if arranged).

4. We in turn will give the inviting committee 3 complete sets of CDs (or tapes if preferred) as well as each speaker is given a copy of their own message. We will add all recordings to our growing catalogs and will make copies available for years to come.

Our prices have remained stable over the last few years and in some cases have gone down.

We sell a single CD for $12.00, a tape for $8.00 and sets according to number of recordings, but usually for significant discount over the cost of singles. All sets come packaged in attractive and durable storage cases, Plastic albums for tapes and zipper wallets for CD sets.

These then are our normal terms and requirements. That said, we are open to discussion on a case by case basis.
