“…a gifted writer with considerable literary talents. McIntosh has written a highly acclaimed book [Christology from Within] on von Balthasar’s theology of Christ as rooted in the lived drama of Christian life, looking to the saints as the most relevant sources in the study of Christ’s person and mission.” – William Thompson in Theological Studies “[In Mystical Theology], McIntosh gives a superbly crafted argument for the difficult but urgent task of reintegrating spirituality and theology. [He] offers a fresh new perspective on the debate regarding the relationship between theology and spirituality… he will influence the conversation on [this relationship] for many years to come.” – Edward Oakes
